I think it's an excellent idea, and one I had planned to suggest once I had finished reading the book. Regardless of what appearances might be (and I don't think it is inappropriate anyway) I think this book has information to offer that is not easily available elsewhere. It will _never_ be widely available since it is self-published. I think we do our members a service by offering it. > If the SC has no objections to selling her book, I'm >thinking about bringing the issue to the MC for discussion and a vote. >However, because she is now a member of the MC, that might allow her to >hear comments that are less than favorable. What say you all? Bob, I do _not_ want you to think I am picking on you here, but we really need to make some decisions regarding the purpose, role and authority of the SC versus the MC. The way the AGA management committee was originally envisioned, it was not a decision making body, but more of an advisory body, made up of various committee heads. It is only within the last few months that the MC has been given the right to vote on any AGA decisions. I am not saying whether this is right or wrong, or whether a change is due, but if we ARE going to make a change, let's do it purposefully and intentionally, not just arbitrarily. If we ARE going to include the MC in voting on all (or even most) matters, is there are purpose for having the two layer structure we currently have? What is the purpose of the SC? If we sometimes include the MC in voting and other times not, I am _sure_ that eventually we are going to have a problem of perceived authority. Let's decide how we are going to handle this stuff now, and stick to it. Karen
