I'm not sure it's fair to ask her to do more than she's already bitten off,
and "special events" could be much more wide ranging than just the
convention project.  Let's let her do what she's already volunteered for,
call it what it is, and get her in the information loop.  Adding a
committee to the MC doesn't mean it has to be permanent.  There will, I'm
sure be other projects that are finite in scope.  As long as the MC is an
advisory group, and not a voting entity, there is _no_ reason not to add
these people to the loop.
