TAG Editor, PAM, etc

Below is the message I just sent Mary.  I will get this issue resolved.
I am taking the approach of finding a new TAG editor.

I don't think that it's going to work out with PAM; certainly my gut tells
me that it's not a good idea, and that we are better off searching for a
new TAG editor(s) and then working to improve TAG.  We have to do
essentially this anyway if we are to take over PAM, but we have the added
fun of taking on the name and expectation, as well as a Dave who's no
longer in charge of his own creation but expected to "tutor" the new
editors and work as one of the underlings.  

Now, one thing I've been mulling over, and have mentioned to Dave (no idea
how he feels about it yet), is having the AGA buy a bunch of PAM's back
issue inventory for sale in our bookstore.  Dave could give us a good deal
on them in exchange for the AGA providing gratis memberships for the 1900
remaining PAM subscriptions (which is an average of 6 issues for the 300
subscribers he still has). Score for AGA: 150 new members who may choose
to stay after their subscription runs out (150 are already AGA members),
some new book inventory available to the 600+ other members who never
subscribed to PAM in the first place.  Score for Dave:  Soften blow of
sending out old issues his subscribers already have, and give him some
money back on the deal.  I think this is a big win for both, and it's
actually DOABLE.

Hi Mary,

We noticed you were conspicously absent at the convention; somebody said
you had recently gone back to graduate school and no longer had the time
to work on TAG and AGA material.  I was wondering if this were so, and if
so, would it be prudent to start a search for a new editor (we could put
an ad in the next TAG even)? If not, do you have a schedule/plan for
getting TAG back on track? Let me know what your plans are, so we can make
this work!
