I think wecan handle this "Boston area" thing and the high cost of hotel rooms in Boston by having the convention at a nice hotel outside of the city. We can arrange with the New England Aquarium for us to have a dinner there and access to the Aquarium after hours -- and we can figure into the cost of the convention the cost of having buses take the group from the convention hotel to the NE Aquarium and back to the hotel. It is manageable. Boston should be the place, as we know we have lots of folks here interested in plants -- and we have Karen, Jack and me to serve as the core of a committee (I'm not volunteering anyone for the posititon -- just hopefully making it clear that we have the horses.
