At the moment, membership in the AGA is $15 a year
if you're in the U.S. In the past, the magazine has either been in black
and white, or mostly black and white with a few color pages in the center.
Size-wise it's the same as PAM, content-wise, we have tried very hard to include
SOME material that is more for the novice than most of PAM's articles
were.
Our goal is to start producing TAG in full color
beginning with the first issue where I am the editor. That will be the
Spring issue, estimated to be in the members' hands in April. (Erik Olson is
producing an interim issue in the mean time, using the last of the material that
was in the hands of the last editor)
My goal is to produce a magazine that is as
visually appealing as PAM was. The article mix will be different of
course, because I'm not Dave, and we are an organization rather than a
publication being produced by a single person. Still, I'd be surprised if
you didn't like it. I think the redesigned TAG will be very comparable to
PAM, even if the "flavor" is a bit different.
It looks very much like we will be carrying an
article by Mr. Amano in each issue, and my goal is to bring the best of the
European articles to our English speaking audience as well as, of course,
articles that are written in English.
The worst I can say about the AGA is that because
of some editor problems the magazine has not come out in a timely manner for
several years. I intend to change that. The best I can say is that
the AGA is a hobby organization run buy the members. So if you don't like
something, you can always get involved and change it!<g> We have a
long track record now, as well, having been around since 1990.
