This is very bad.  I cannot resend the check, because it was not a
personal check.  It was a cashier's check, drawn on a foreign bank, and
was already deducted from my checking account back in December.  If it did
not arrive, then it is truly lost, either stolen by someone or lost in the
mail.

I don't know what happened.  In talking with people in the last few 
months, they have told me that sending foreign drafts this was is almost 
as bad as sending cash.  I will ask my wife if there is anything we can 
do, as she got the check drawn.  I severely doubt it at this point.

I am also cc'ing this to the steering committee to see if there are any 
suggestions on what to do at this point.

In regards to the other prizes, I am forwarding this to David Youngker, 
who handled the prize coordination.  He may be able to help here.

I am really sorry for all this.  I NEVER wanted to be involved in this 
end, and even with all the work it took for an entire year to get it 
straightened out, now to find out that the money is essentially gone.
