No! she's smart? I never would have guessed.<g>

No, no, calm down. We DON'T want _YOU_ of all people to start kicking
people.<g>

It wasnt really like that. It was that the BOD (or at that point "steering
committee") was so small that we KNEW that if Kathy joined the board, she'd
end up with more work, and we felt that the "Olson family unit" was already
doing more than their share. I beleive that Kathy was in on the discussion
at the time. Now she's doing more anyway, so what the heck. It didn't keep
her from doing the work, she might as well have the title too.<g>

I agree totally.

Because we got smarter?<g> No, seriously, when this all started, there was
no Internet communication, and it was hard enough keeping 4 of us (Neil,
Dorothy, Jare and myself) on the same page between snail mail and telephone
calls. Then it got too big for the 4 of us. There was Internet access by
then, but Neither Dorothy nor Jare were on line, so we still had trouble
keeping everyone in the loop. And we still didn't have a clear direction.
So when Neil was up here speaking at NEC, he and I and a few other people
got together and wrote a sketchy organizational chart and "guidelines". We
arbitrarily picked a number for the Steering Committee... I think 4 plus the
committee chair, so we had an odd number for voting purposes. (though most
things were decided by consensus) We didn't really have enough people
chomping at the bit to make it larger. We would have had a theoretically
larger BOD, with empty seats.

Now that we're communicating better because of the Internet, it has made
sense to make it possible to add people to the BOD as needed and
appropriate. David suggested having the official bylaws written that way,
now that we are incorporated.

So that's where we stand. History lesson for the day completed. Hope you
took good notes, as there will be a test on this material tomorrow.<g>
