Hmmm.  I missed the part about his involvement lending credibility.  I'll
have to go back and re-read, but I THOUGHT he was saying that AGA
sanctioning the forum would lend it credibility.

That is true.

Well, there are actually two different issues.  There is the issue of REAL
liability, when/if an AGA management type person does something negligent,
or something negligent happens on our watch.  I DO think we want to know our
exposure there.

Then there is the reality of a suit happy society.  Anyone can sue anyone
for anything, and it is going to cost the person getting sued some money and
angst, whether the claim has any basis or not.  There is not much we can do
to protect ourselves from frivolous law suits except to stay hidden under a
rock.  In which case, we certainly are going to have trouble attracting new
members, and the idea of holding real, live, people-present conventions
ought to have us quaking in our boots.
