Re: TAG quotes

Hi Karen and Kathy --
The most recent costs for 1,000 TAGs has been $4,815. That is just the cost
for printing without mailing and sales tax costs.
If you need anything else, please let me know. I agree with all that Kathy
has been saying -- you guys are doing a TERRIFIC job, and switching printers
will be weird, but it looks like we can cut our printing costs in half!!!!
Take care,
David

But I agree, for the cost differentce, it makes sense. What concerns me
most is that I don't want to take a lot of flak, nor should Cheryl, about
the inevitable delays that will be caused by this. We work like crazy to
get the magazine out on time as it is, and something ALWAYS goes wrong. It
hasn't been in the same place twice (except for ADA, but I'm kind of at the
point where if they don't get us the stuff in time, we will just go to press
without them) but it's ALWAYS something. And that's with both the printer
and the fulfillment center being within a few miles of my house. I've had
to drive to both to sort things out more than once, and there is AT LEAST
one trip to the printer for each issue. That can't be done long distance,
which means that ANY hold-up is going to add at least another 3 or 4 days to
the process.!
> .. Not to mention all the international phone calls we'll have to either
keep track of or absorb. Right now, neither Cheryl nor I ever ask for
reimbursement on the calls we have to make to each other.

one taking the heat when it doesn't (predictably) go smoothly.
