I reran the Budget numbers for Marriot. Per the conversations with Marriot, the roomnights will be lowered to 200 (170 guaranteed). And Banquet guarantee is lowered from 230 to 150 -- I think this is right -- it's confusing for reasons described below. I used the Budget numbers except for the above and this: Changed Registration Ree from $49 to $49 for first 50 registrants and $59 for subsequent registrants. I computed results WITHOUT the Penalty fee for the Hotel's foregone food/beverage revenues if we fall short of function attendance (whatever that means). I spent another hour trying to figure out the implications of the language in the contract and there are enough different arguably valid interpretations that I finally gave up. I calculated instead a minimum guarantee of 150 Banquets because I understand that is where we are headed. See notes in the Summary for the fine print about this "Estimated" fee. Let me know if you think know what might cost -- I'll show you how it can cost more than that ;-) I don't think we can solidly estimate the costs until this "estimated loss" language is straightened out -- GWAPA is working on that. Everybody needs to ask themselves (or each other) what's the minimum attendance we are very confident we can get (assuming we don't have to cancel do to a TSA alert, etc.). Also ask what should the breakeven level be. I think they are one and the same level. sh ===== S.
