To play devil's advocate for a moment... The problem with the "on your own" model is that through no one's fault, just because it WAS "on your own", most of us in the "inner circle" had a great time, but there were people who didn't know folks as well, were new to the group, were shyer, or were just plain overlooked in the hustle and bustle who got left out of the groupings. I think there was one night that even Dorothy got lost in the crowd. 'Course she's little, but we don't want to overlook ANYONE.<g> So I guess if we have to do it that way, someone local should do some advance planning, find a few restaurants that can seat large-ish groups and how many they can handle, and have numbered sign-up sheets for each. Then have people sign up for a group Friday night and call those numbers in to the restaurants. If someone doesn't sign up, they are on their own, but at least there is an organized way for someone to hook up with others. We'd also have to make sure the WE spread ourselves out so that things didn't appear too "clique-y". Particualrly since it would be impossible for EVERYONE to have dinner with Amano.<g> Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kathy Olson" <kathy@thekrib.com> To: <aga-sc@thekrib.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2004 10:32 AM Subject: Re: [AGA SC] That Darn Marriot -- We were this close when. . . > On Mon, 8 Mar 2004, S.
