Ghazanfar is asking if, due to the tremendous response, we should extend the $49 registration offer for an additional 25 persons. Possibly adjusting fees based on early returns was always contemplated. We never expected this kind of early turnout, though. Anyone care to comment? I will: The $10 (Charging $59 instead of the $49 we had originally wanted to charge) was to partially underwrite our underpricing the Banquets. The early registrants are the ones, imo, most likely to also purchase a Banquet. But this is not because buying early prompts them to do that, but because the more die-hard, willing-to-spend folks are the ones that will lay out cash 6 months before they get to enjoy it -- and so more likely to buy banquets. My point is that, although Banquet purchases are high now, I suspect we are catching the Banquet buyers in the early birds and when all is said and done the ratio of Banquets to Regs might not be any higher this year than last year, even though it's higher right now. So I don't think Banquet sales are an issue. Just reg sales. Thus, I think the issue is just this, do we think we'll get at least 5 more regs (about $245) than we would otherwise if we extend the discount for another 25 people (at $10 per reg = a "cost" of $250)? So far 40 regs have been bought by 36 people and only one of the 36 is a new member. So the discount is not attracting new AGA members! If it was, I'd feel somewhat confident that it was drawing in folks that might not attend at $59. But as things are, I don't know. sh --- Ghazanfar Ghori <ghazanfarghori@hotmail.com> wrote: > From: "Ghazanfar Ghori" <ghazanfarghori@hotmail.com> > To: krandall@rdrcpa.biz, shieber@yahoo.com > CC: erik@thekrib.com, rickdotson@aol.com, > cheryl@rightstuffwebsites.com > Subject: Reg > Date: Tue, 06 Apr 2004 22:04:51 -0400 > > ..make that 38. > > So - up the fee to $59 @ 50 people or let another 25 or > so in @ $49? > > _________________________________________________________________ > Free up your inbox with MSN Hotmail Extra Storage! > Multiple plans available. > http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=hotmail/es2&ST=1/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/ > ===== S.
