Scott and David,

I know that Dave has solved this problem for non-profit groups a number of
times with a "dead treasurer letter", as he calls it.  In this case, it's
even the truth, that the person handling it passed away, and it hasn't been
very long.  This is the danger of being incorporated.  Once you announce
your existence to the IRS, they want to know what's going on every year, no
matter what.

The good news is that, according to Dave, they are generally pretty lenient
with non-profits if you throw yourself on their mercy.  But the sooner it's
done, the better.  If you want, I'll ask Dave if he has a sample letter we
can use for the format.
