They ARE good points.  NEC is ALWAYS after the member clubs to renew their
memberships, even when there are very positive reasons for keeping
membership current, dues are cheap ($25 per year per club) and clubs
generally DO want to participate.  It's also like pulling teeth to get the
clubs to send a delegate to the 4 NEC meetings each year. (and they get
lunch and a program as part of the deal!)
