I don't disagree with any of your points generally. But
I
have a couple of concerns. Frist, if we have some idea
that
we will have more than just SFBAAPS, that we will get
many
or at least several premies, then that is a diff
situatiion
than if we only get one or two. It should be enough to
page
for a sheet (4 pages). I say this only because we don't
know how much peripheral impact there will be. By
peripheral impact I mean, adding lots of membership and
involvement bringing in even more members by word of
mouth.
Scott,
I look at the whole premier membership thing...and
calculate that they are
getting 10 memberships for $100, where normally the
individuals would pay
$200 for that. So that is $100 off. This is money that
normal goes
towards production of TAG. So potentially we are losing
$100 in revenue
that would go to TAG production/AGA business.
In addition to this, they would be taking up page space
that could be used
for advertisers, or cool articles (that keep people
signed up), then they
are also getting back issues, worth some unknown value,
and then they are
also getting a convention DVD, which has some
production/material cost as
well.
Soooooo, I don't think the money from premier memberships
would pay for
extra pages, in a way the AGA will be loosing existing
money that is used
in the the production of TAG.
Now I think the thought is hopefully we are getting
people we wouldn't
reach otherwise, and perhaps get new members.
But seeing this, I am not so sure.
I am Okay going along with it, but I really don't thing
Premier
memberships will bring in extra revenue for new pages in
TAG, and I hope
they don't create too much of a loss from the existing
money coming into
support tag.
