Re: Re: [AGA-sc] Fwd: Please do not send check

I totally agree with sending all the money, think I forgot to say that. We don't want to offend Amano...

Thanks, Tomoko,

The only reason for splitting the amount was that we don't
really know what happened with the books. However, since he
doesn't have them, I am comfortable with the view that they
must have been sold.

The additional reasons you give add even more reason to
send all $400 -- I assume by mug shot, you are referring to
Cheryl and not me -- after all, the AJ does have an
aesthetic reputation to maintain ;-)

I am copying this message to the other Board members.

Thanks again,

I think you should go ahead and send the money (all $400)
to ADA with a
letter stating clearly that you have been able to confirm
the sale of the
books. I don't think that will offend Mr. Amano. It's
kind of strange to
send only a half of it if you are going to send any at
all. Actually the
money you send would cover the cost of the Aqua Journal
(January or February
2005 issue?) that ADA will be sending to a number of us
in the near future.
Nozomi told me yesterday that Mr. Amano will be mailing
us the future Aqua
Journal issue in which the article on AGA convention
(Nozomi's piece) will
appear. He's done the same to all the lady hobbyists
that he took the
pictures of during the convention (or at least to those
he had the addresses
for). 21 female AGA members were introduced individually
with their
pictures and stats in February 2002 issue of Aqua
Journal. Your mug shot
will be in the one that's coming <g>.

Hi, I know you're very busy but if you found a bit of
time
to read this then perhaps you can give us your opinion
on
whether it would more likely please or offend Mr. Amano
if
we sent him $200.

Thanks,
happy Holidays,

Hi Scott:

Did you run this by Tomoko? What did she say? Just
curious....

Well, folks. Whattaya think? Since we have confirmed

not
sending him something. Otoh, that might be rude at
this

Dear Scott,

Thank you for your quick reply.
I am very glad to hear your comment.

$400
I spoke with Mr. Amano about your proposal to send
him
a
check of USD400.
He told me he does not want to take money if the
sales
of
the books is not
confirmed.

So please forget about it!
Mr. Amano is not minding it at all.
He is quite satisfied with the fact many people
bought
his expensive books!

Sincerely,

Nozomi Hayakawa

Dear Nozomi,

Thanks for writing back to me. Everyone had great
fun

at

the convention and we were able to learn a lot.
Seeing

and

hearing Mr. Amano was the highlight and we were
honored

to

meet and spend some time with him.

I am very happy to hear about the news in Aqua
Journal.

As

always, we look forward to seeing any news from Mr.

Amano.

Sorry for the confusion about the money -- things
were
rather hectic at the close of the convention. Thank
you

for

helping me correct my error. I will issue a check
immediately for $400 to Mr. Amano. Can you please
give

me a

mailing address and telephone number? I will need
this

info

to ensure that the check arrives as quickly as

possible.

And on behalf of all of the members of the AGA and
especially the members of the AGA Board, please
extend

our

thanks to Mr. Amano for his visit and for all the

generous

and important support he has given to the AGA over
the
years.

I am glad we got to talk again,

Dear Scott,

First we would like to thank your kind hospitality

during

our visit to
Washington D.C.
We enjoyed meeting many planted aquarium
hobbyists.
We introduce the event on AQUA JOURNAL. I will
send
complimentary copies to
Erik, or Karen, and ask to deliver the copies to
board

of

directors members
of AGA, and GWAPA.

The Rio Negro Book
I confirmed with Mr. Amano that he did not take
money
directly, nor
presented someone else.
He only presented to Tomoko.
