Hmm. Random observations: Banquet lost $2000. Why was the expense so much higher? NOT good. Field trip lost $400. Bus rental higher than expected, I guess.Roomnights, an extra $1100. We knew that was happening as soon as Amano walked in. But why this much? Nozomi should have been no more than $500.
Otherwise, not unexpected. If we have a situation with the banquet costing so much, we should really rethink the value of the banquet altogether.
The fact that $470 was budgeted in advertising and in reality only $46.29 was spent is quite telling.
I like that I saved the convention $387.50 (in all likelihood about TWICE that) in picture printing. I also like that the DVD income for the AGA will be well over 1/4 of our convention income.
Oh well. Karen is right that all the stress was hardly worth it, but the goal was to have a convention that was enjoyed by its attendees while NOT losing our own shirts.

I haven't had a chance to look this over but thought one or more of you might want to see it without further delay. It appears the net is $3,994.40, so divided evenly, that $1,997.20 each to GWAPA and to the AGA. Since we are already holding $492.07 of the AGA2K4 funds, about $1,500 remains to be transferred to us. Like I said, I haven't had a chance to look at this yet. sh Note: forwarded message attached. ===== --- Christel Kassellman is returning to America! --- The Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies will feature Christel, author of _Aquarium Plants_, among its speakers at its 30th Annual Convention.
