Re: [AGA-sc] Phil

I think he's just asking for some support from folks on the advisory committee to join in on the form that WE ARE PAYING TO SPONSOR (which I am not sure I agree with, but I don't have the time to really check details of). Forums don't work by throwing money at them, they work by having people there.

I don't think he's directing it specifically at Karen, nor do I think he's saying we all should be participating in every forum out there, just saying it'd be nice if the bunch of us would show up on these two forums.

Of course I resent the fact that the AGA Board is perceived to be cliquish, because it reinforces the attitude. Sometimes it seems that no matter what I or others do to try and combat it, there's just no way around it (reference many decisions we've had to make in the past five years, such as "official photographer", "forum proposals", "SFBAAPS and the AGA 2005 convention"). It's almost like, one either makes a decision that paints the board in an elitist light, or one makes a crappy waffly decision.

It sucks that because most of the folks don't *like* forums others perceive this as "we're too good for forums". Whatever.

(Who REALLY doesn't have any time to be writing like this -- I am desparately trying to get the photo rendering algorithm working again for the contest.)

Maybe I'm feeling cranky, but I am NOT particularly happy about being strong-armed by Phil about doing something I don't have time for when I have so much other stuff I need to get done for AGA. Am I the only one?
