I don't think he was aiming at anyone in particular, just
trying in his own way to encourage some appearances.

I thought the announcement was kind of negative -- here's a
chance to fix what's wrong with the AGA. Not the "spin," if
you'll pardon the expression, that I would have given it. I
would have tried to put it all in positive expression --
here's a chance to participate and help AGA to be . . . So,
I would have liked for the group to have a chance to
comment on the text before it was posted.

**Otoh**, if we don't give volunteers some room to exercise
their volition, that can be discouraging. So, I try to keep
that in mind and keep my own apparently endless font of
criticism at least somewhat in check...

Despite the sound of forced irony, I'm not sure whether the
"cliqishness" is a widespread view or one that comes from a
particular "clique."
