Hi Cheryl,

I hear you. I understand what you're saying. I wish I had some better ideas. I'm all for spending AGA money on projects like printing the Beginner guide, bigger TAGs, "community" service, etc. Those things, I think, will bump up the AGA reputation.

Okay. good. thanks.

I was down on the
gregwatson.com idea because I just don't think it will help significantly --

I know. I accept all of the arguments against that particular idea. My little fit is more about a culmination of apathy. That phrase totally does not work. Shoot. Best I can do.

like Scott says, he's a micro-company, and selling to
the same people who are already subscribed or have decided not to.

As an interesting cooincidence, Greg and I were talking about his iron supplement, because I am almost out of the BUCKET of Seachem Flourish Iron that Tony gave me when he got out of the plant hobby. And it was I who requested a link to the forum from his site. We got to talking, and I did *not* bring up the subscriptions page. But it seems he is willing to send me a list of folks who ordered from him last year so we can cross-check, as long as we promise to keep it confidential. Then we'll know for sure how many of his customers were AGA members.

What
about a 1/4 page ad in one of the big magazines like TFH (assuming AFM is already covered with Scott's column?)?

How about both TFH and FAMA? Scott, does AFM allow you to plug AGA in each issue? Even better, would they give you a discount on an ad?

I wish I had more to contribute.

How do we track ad response? Perhaps your contribution is more in the proper implementation than the idea.

Cheryl
