Did Jim say who the speaker wrangler is?When the time comes, we should ask Leon if he has any experience running a big auction... it's all well and good to ask to chair it because you're pissed at how last year's was run, but...
I would propose we do a similar deal to DFW in terms of liability and profit: first $2000 net goes entirely to AGA, then 50% between the clubs afterwards. But also add provision that since AGA is solely backing this financially, we are allowed to step in if we think the financial viability of the convention is threatened by actions (or inactions) by SFBAAPS.
Glad Larry is taking over hotel negs. Might actually make this work now. - Erik On Wed, 25 Jan 2006, S. Hieber wrote:
No and yes. Jim and Larry still have to link up. I spoke about three hours or so to the two of them separately. Jim's the chair (90% certain, imo) -- when there's no one else in line, you are at the head of the line. Larry will speak with hotel. I will do a second redraft tomorrow of the hotel contract (to add catering language) I sent previously to Jim and Larry (essentially the contract for our last two conventions) Leon wants to do the auction. Still need to get clear with SF on the split between SF and AGA. I'm beat and have to get up at 4:00 am and haven't had dinner yet. So th-th-th-th-that's all folks. sh ----- Original Message ---- From: Erik Olson erik@thekrib.com Did you guys get together with Jim from SFBAAPS tonight? _______________________________________________ AGA-sc mailing list AGA-sc@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-sc
