Re: [AGA-sc] Fw: AGA

I'm not advocating for any one approach, but this particular club is in a slightly different position than the "general annoucement" category. They have purposely held off picking a date for their annual event (which they run very well) so that they would avoid interfering with/drawing attendance away from ours.
While this is important to a few people who would come to SF, it has major consequences if there is ANY chance that we would need to move the venue to the east coast. NJAS is a major player in the NEC. We absolutely CAN'T interfere with their event on this coast, _and_ we would hope to draw heavily on their membership for help as well as atendance if we were to have the convention here.
How would people feel if I gave them Scott's info, and then tell them to go ahead and set their dates assuming ours will not change. We could tell them that in the unlikely event that we DO need to change the date, we will do everything we can to avoid their dates once they are set?

Until I actually talk to this Jean at the Hotel I am
not absolutely certain we have anything. I have left
her 3 voice mails , she has returned one. I am going
to try her again this morning.

Although I feel somewhat confident we can make
something work with the PArk Plaza since we are so
close, but it still may not play out that way.

I would say that if the Park Plaza does not work we
would still likely end up in SF, but I think we should
wait until we have a hotel contract b4 any
announcements.

This is just my recommendation if you guys want to
announce it first then that is fine too.

However, I will email you all as soon as Jean and I
talk....

          I know that I asked you about AGA few days
ago and you mentioned that there is something on the
table but you can not talk about it. That is fine !



          At last night NJAS Board meeting we were
discussing possible dates for Spring and Fall
auction / fish shows and I mentioned AGA Convention.
We decided to hold off on Fall Auction and find out
if we have any specific dates for AGA.



          Is there anything specific ? I know that
you can not talk about it but if you can provide any
type of information. At least which weekend and
which month, I would really appreciate !
