Besides which, you don't develop new stars. No one had heard of Claus
either until I talked Janine into brining him to NEC. No one had heard
of Christel until her book came out in English, although she was just as
knowledgeable BEFORE the book.

Imo, go for one of Karen's. she mentioned talking to Claus about a
recommendation. I'd like to move forward that way. Next year would be a
better time for Christel.. Without some time lapse inbetween, we will
burn through all our stars too quickly or too frequently.

Jim is asking about Christel again. Seems to me she just spoke at NEC
last year; we'd be better off getting one of Karen's suggestions. Any
 thoughts from you guys?

 Erik,
I read Karens suggestions, and I think it might be a good opportunity to
introduce some new blood to the key presenters in this area. I have the
feeling that the demand for speakers in the aquatic plant arena will
continue.
We exhausted my speaker list (Prof Tan, Claus, Dave), but I did have one
more thought. Would it be reasonable to try for Kasselmann again. I
thought her recent articles in TAG on her Brazil trip were about the best
I've seen on field expeditions that I've seen in a while. She did bring
out another book here in the US this past year, which had more of an
Aquarium focus. She is a "name" in the hobby.
 Just a thought,
 Jim.

Karen definitely has some ideas (see the message thread below). I just
wanted to figure out if you or SFBAAPS had any other preferred speakers
before we ran off and contacted someone.
