Got it; we don't want to disuade or surprise the locals from these other clubs. I don't have a problem not charging extra and I don't even have a problem, in general, not requiring membership. Both will tend to reduce attendance some marginal amount and there isn't any clear boost in membership when we have the requirement -- membership hangs in there around 700-800, convention or no. As we've previously discussed, since we have been requiring membership for this convention, we can stop now. And since all regs have to be members, I don't see how treating some of them diff is fair. Imo, either everyone that is late (past the yet to be established cutoff date) is charged a late fee or no one is. We haven't had a late charge posted - we could just skip it this year -- or we could post it now and hope two or three weeks was enough for folks not to be unreasonably surprised. I say forget the late charge -- it's too late, too complicated and we're hoping everyone avoids it anyhow. sh ----- Original Message ---- From: Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> To: Aquatic Gardeners Association Board <aga-sc@thekrib.com> Sent: Friday, October 6, 2006 10:22:04 AM Subject: Re: [AGA-sc] proposal for walk-in rate My concern is that this convention will have a higher ratio of walk-ins from neighboring clubs than previous years. I don't have THAT good a connection with these clubs. So far, they're all probably thinking they can just walk in based on the info that has been relayed. This is different from the SFBAAPS guys who have been TOLD about (and groused about) the requirements since day 1. What about if we raise it by $20 for walk-ins off the street and $10 for walk-in AGA members? This is different from the auction and other stuff, because we have not published ANYTHING about walk-in rates. I'm also a little queasy about raising the rates spontaneously on the site on the 12th, because again, no warning. _______________________________________________ AGA-sc mailing list AGA-sc@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-sc
