I think it would be fun to have a major plant collecting trip in the summer, some place cool with our favorite speakers, ie Kristel, Ole, Claus, etc...get four or 5 collecting speakers, meet in Florida. Then bring all the plants back and ID them etc, bag them and auction them. If you get enough collecting folks and do it two days prior to the talks...it could be several small groups going to different locations. Okay, crazy thought, but just since we thinking.... I think in terms of speakers/conferences, we really need a talk on OK this is ALL THE TYPES OF THIS plant type of thing, maybe too boring. But how many species of ludwidgia are there? Anubius? Etc....I know too much for one talk, but I like that type of thing at ACA and miss it here. Kristel did some of that I think or wait was it Claus. I am confusing DVD's with reality here to, since I never saw Kristel live. Forgive my english, up all night with vomitting kid and near incoherent. K On Mon, 20 Nov 2006, S. I'd like to spend in a way that we can maintain a continued level of assets of around $40k. So we could start with $15g but want to spend only about $5 g per year from then forward (unless membership picks up, of course). Some proposals given, followed, or merely thought about: Contest calendars Translation of Kasselman Package something with some vendors? Coupons? Discounts?? Bigger TAG Longer TAG Premium clubships More AGA shirts Subdizing research (but who'se gonna check on the spending or the research?) Spend an extra $20 g on the next convention and have really high production values, crepes for breakfast, mandarin oranges for snacks, etc. . . . ----- Original Message ---- From: Cheryl Rogers <cheryl@wilstream.com> To: Aquatic Gardeners Association Board <aga-sc@thekrib.com> Sent: Monday, November 20, 2006 3:23:02 PM Subject: Re: [AGA-sc] AGA Calender Hobby hole is ain't anybody doing it for aquascaping -- not even Amano.
