I agree with your points Cheryl. I also wish we had
not said we were going to do it in 2007 originally. I
expressed reservations at the time but I went along
with the group feeling at the time.

It certainly is not the members "fault" If there is
anyone to blame it would rest squarely on my
shoulders. I simply was not successful in the hotel
search and have not had enough time to put into it
recently to try to reverse that.

We don't have enough volunteers that is a fact, but
volunteers can't do this first critical step which is
to secure the venue. This has to be done by someone
who has done it before. Since there was noone else to
do it that means me. Again, I knew this when we said
we were going to do this sans host club.

This still does not remove the fact that the AGA does
not have enough people actively involved.

I have also said that I do not think the president 
should be the person chairing the convention. I don't
know what to do about this.

I still think this is a good model but we or I should
say I need to get something done on this now. 

I wanted to wait for 2008 because I did not think it
would be to much longer before I had a hotel so we
could temper the disappointment somewhat with the
announcement of an excellent 2008 speaker lineup.

In retrospect you are right we should have made the
announcements seperately.  

What do you guys think we should do now? I am open for
suggestions. 

I will work on some type of announcement this weekend
and then forward it to the list for review. If someone
else wants to do this that would be great too. I am
certainly not the best writer of the group.

I will also be making more calls tomorrow for 2008. I
will get back with the results.
