Re: [AGA-sc] AGA 2008
Hi Everyone,
Good news, at least it appears that way. I have two
tenative proposals from DOWNTOWN Atlanta Hotels. Both
are looking like decent possible locations for AGA2K8.
The only real downside is that the only weekend we can
get our rate is Nov 13-16 which is technically the
third weekend in Nov. Still it is far enough from
Halloween or Thanksgiving so it should not be a
problem.
If we are OK with these dates I am confident we can
come to terms with one of these properties. The rate
will be $109. This is an excellent rate for a business
class downtown ATLanta hotel. The best part is that we
are only 6 blocks from the Georgia Aquarium. This
means that we only need to worry about transportation
to Seachem.
I am still in the early stages of negotiating so don't
worry about picking the proposals apart just yet. That
will come later after I have come back to them to see
what we can negotiate.
The two properties are the ones I mentioned The Hilton
Downtown and the Sheraton Downtown. One advantage the
Sheraton does have is that we have 10,000 points in my
account from AGA26 which I think would get us a couple
of room nights for speakers.
Take a look at these properties and most importantly
the dates and let me know your thoughts.
