RE: Resins
I don't know what the major aquariums use, however I came across an article
some time ago; "Creating Your Own Fiberglass 3D Aquarium Background". This
person used styro, fiberglass resin, sand, driftwood, and a few other items
to build what looks to be a great looking tankscape.
I just went back to the website that I got it from and didn't find it.

You may be able to request the article be put back up, or I maybe blind and
it is still there.
I do have a copy I printed. If you would like I could copy it and snail
mail it to you. If you told me what graphic format you could view, a jpeg
file would probably be the smallest .jpg, I could scan it and e-mail you the
file. It is six pages with two black & white pictures of the end result.
The writer did put his e-mail address at the end of the article, I would
send that to you off line if you wish.

Subject: Resins
Does anyone have any idea what resins the major aquariums use for their
backdrops and tanks?
I would like to create an underwater bank scene in my 55 gal for my DC's
using styrofoam, sand, and coloring. This background will also include
branches that will tie into a stump with the root system still attached.
Does anyone have any resources that I could possibly check out?
Thanks,
