i have the address of a DIY web page bookmarked at home (i think) that describes just such a project, minus the detail about the stump. if noone else comes up with it, i'll try to look it up later. it's just a guy's project, though; no info on the major aquariums.

Subject: Resins
Does anyone have any idea what resins the major aquariums use for their
backdrops and tanks?
I would like to create an underwater bank scene in my 55 gal for my DC's
using styrofoam, sand, and coloring. This background will also include
branches that will tie into a stump with the root system still attached.
Does anyone have any resources that I could possibly check out?
Thanks,
Francine in MD
