Sue, I too have a pair of Apisto. Cacatuoides in a 20 gallon heavily planted community tank with 2 corydoras and 15 dither fish such as cardinal tetras. There are hiding places provided, with two pieces of driftwood and a coconut shell cut to create a cave. My water is usually around the following parameters: 7-7.5 pH; 6 DGH; 3 DKH; temp. 26 C There is a bag of peat in the tank. They spawn every 2 or 3 weeks. Eggs hatch, I get wrigglers, but I seldom see free swimming babies in my community tank. I once had two females in this tank but I had to remove one before she get killed by the dominant one.
