RE: Pronunciations
Living in Spain, where the language is pretty close to the original Latin,
I'd have pronounced it Heep-o-leet-e. However, Latin names aren't
necessarily pronounced in a latin manner! You only need to talk to a
botanist to realise this (my mother is a botanist, and her neighbour is a
tutor of micro-biology at the Open University in the UK) . For this reason,
and no other, I'd go for hip-o-lite.
By the way, this has been giving my spell checker headaches (who mentioned
spell checkers, Helen?)
