It's one of those string length questions, "best case" anywhere between 2 to
3 weeks, "worst case" months. It depends on a multiplicity of factors which
induce the fish to think its time to spawn again, though fresh/frozen food,
frequent water changes, happy tank (and mate) all play their part - but you
can do everything "right" and they just won't be interested. Leave a
relative in-charge while you go on vacation, and you come back to more fry
than you know what to do with.
