Re: salt and cories... was Re: safe catfish



Corys being sensitive to salt is an "old wives tale". They are maybe a little
more sensitive than scaled fish but not by much. My question is why use salt for
ich?. The amount needed to affect ich parasites will probably stress your fish &
plants. You would be much better off raising the temperature to 30ºC (85ºF) and
keeping the tank dark for a few day. Corys supplement their air intake with
atmospheric air they swallow. Increase aeration to the water for other fish. Your
plants should be able to handle 3-4 days without light.
