Try Aquarium Stock at the corner of Beverly and Crescent Heights in West Hollywood.  They are pricey but I've seen quite a few 'pistos over the years.  They even have Westies occasionally - I dont mean just kribs and thomasi. 

 

The Aquarium on Venice Blvd  (a couple of miles west of the 405) in Mar Vista has a few DC as well.

Hello all,
Since I can't seem to find enough West African Stuff in Southern Cal. to
fill a matchbox, I'm thinking of going Apisto.
Can anyone in the LA. area point me to a good source of Apistos and other
South American natives?  I'd like to try steindacheri or caucatoides,
nothing to exotic.
