I have purchased Edward Noga's textbook on Fish Disease and Treatment.  It's
a textbook for vets and complicated.  However, there's plenty of information
on diseases that affect tropical fish plus other conditions that adversely
affect fish health with scientific explanations.   A microscope would be an
excellent aid as well.  I look at the pictures and read the text about them
and hope that my fish never get sick like that.  Yuk.
