thanks for posting the picture Bob.. looks very nice.. with the red in the face.. different from the borelli I have.. I'd like to know everybody else's experience with raising up borelli fry... do you leave them with the parents or pull them out .. I've done both but I've found that they fry with the parents grow up much faster.. except there's less fry... i think it's because they swim to the other side of the partation where my cautoides eat them .. but i've seen the male munching on them also.. i was reading over the articles at thekrib.com and it says to remove the male... maybe i'll just remove the fry next time.. I believe I should have free swimming fry in around 2 weeks time.. my pair spawn's every 4 weeks.. and I just received a borelli trio from someone else.. i'll try to raise some fry in a 2.5 or 5 gallon tank... hmm hope that works... but i'm too lazy to hatch brine shrimp.. as of now i feed all my fry decapsulated brine shrimp eggs squirted into some java moss where they can pick at them (i think that's what they do) Acutally I did somethign very stupid today.. my kribs have some free swimming fry.. aroudn 30 ~ 40 of them.. I really wanted to raise a bunch this time so i removed the fry and placed them into my 5 gallon tank with 11 ~ 1 month old krib fry.. ahh but they ate my new krib fry. i only have 2 left.. should have set up another tank but I was too lazy.. as a result i have 11 1 month krib fry that are really full!! can someone who has experience or pulls out apisto fry regulary instead of letting their parents raise them please e-mail me and trade some thoughts or things i should be doing to ensure I can raise they fry successfully.. with minimal death... my 2.5 and 5 gallon fry raising tanks all have a sponge filter, an airstone and a small bag of 'ammonia remover' initially I do 25%~ 50% water changes with water from the parents tank then after a week I do water changes with aged water.. anything wrong with my method? or any suggestions to improve it? Hope you all don't mind the rather long e-mail..
