Not much to go on, but it could be A. sp. "Algodon II", a very poor name for this
fish since it doesn't come from the Rio Algodon. Koslowski wrote that it is a
particularly colorful form of the fish called Parallel-stripes in the Linke &
Staeck book. Julio Melgar isn't so sure. I haven't seen this fish personally so
I'll let them fight it out. Koslowski is now calling it A. sp. Putumayo. It
certainly doesn't sound like A. sp. "Algodon I", another terrible name, because
this fish doesn't come from the Algodon either. Now it is being called A. sp.
Papagei/Parrot, among others. We are now being cursed by the exporters from Peru.
None really want to reveal their collecting sites (understandable) and each is
giving different names to the same fish. It is really quite confusing.
