Re: Apistogramma 'Rio Malome' ?



I saw my first Rio Malome at the ACA convention this summer. I am fairly certain
that it is the same fish that the Japanese call Mamoré Blue. It is a large
representative of the resticulosa-complex. It certainly isn't a eunotus-complex
species. It doesn't show any split vertical bars below the lateral band. As I've
said before, other than the dark markings, the colors on an apisto are not very
useful in identifying a species - different color variants yes, species no.
