FW: Blue Ram food?

I have found that rams greedily eat frozen brine & blood worms--surface feed
or off the bottom.

I started using frozen foods and a turkey baster to inject the food. After
about a week (these were not tank raised rams to my knowledge), they get the
idea and come to the surface in anticipation of any food (flake, pellet,
dried, or frozen) based presumably on association with the feeder.

As slow eaters, I have stopped injecting the food and allow the rams to pull
worms or brine from mouth of the baster. This way they eat maximum amounts
in a short period and don't have to compete with the dithers. Only downside
is that the rams are constantly in the way when doing tank maintenance or
gravel cleaning.

Good luck.
J Sullivan.

Frozen? freeze dried? live?

I have been trying to get them to eat freezedried blood worms, basically
the staple food for all my fish, and they seem very reluctant to go to
the surface and get them.

thanks
