I'm only repeating what I've heard, but as far as I know it's pretty well endemic, and only when fish are down are they susceptible. However, I 've also heard that it's possible for people to contract it and so you (and everybody else) should be very careful when putting your hands into your aquarium if you have any open wounds. For this reason I always have full length (60cm) latex gloves at hand in the eventuality of needing to put my hands in if I have a cut. Someone recently posted on the APD about having contracted it and how his cut wouldn't heal. I can't remember who it was, maybe Dave Gomberg? i hope he isn't offended if it wasn't him, but I can't ask him as I can't seem to get back onto the APD! (Any help gratefully received). If this info. is completely off base, let me know. C:-)lin PS If anybody who lives in the EU wants some of these gloves I'll get you some at cost, my company sells 'em! If not, go to a good Safety equipment supplier and ask for Showa model B0710, you should be able to get them in packs of 10 for around $13.00. -----Original Message----- From: EESweet@aol.com <EESweet@aol.com> To: apisto@listbox.com <apisto@listbox.com> Date: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 9:46 PM Subject: Re: Dead cacatos >Fish TB?
