Re: D.C. books (was Re: )



I agree with Gary & Sal, the Linke & Staeck books are very good. The 1997
edition has even more species than the English edition and I believe that they
plan on an up date soon. I feel that one of the best "recipe" books for breeding
apistos is still Schmettkamp's "Die Zwergcichliden Südamerikas". Still, like the
English edition of Linke & Staeck's book, there are better books presently
available. You can get all of the information found in these 2 books in Römer's
Atlas. Once it's out in English I'm certain that all of the other d.c. books on
your bookshelf will be collecting dust. Still, the Römer Atlas doesn't have all
of the new species in it; no book can. At least Aqualog updates photos nearly
every year, even if there's no information with them. That's what the mailing
list is for.
