Re: Anomalochromis Thomasi/ramshorn snail

The best method that I found in getting rid of snails is to put a couple
(never one) Clown Loaches in the tank. Snails are gone in a couple of
weeks, I recommend you leave them for about a month. I did this to all my
tanks and "NO MORE SNAILS!!! You can actually hear them crunching the
shells..
I can't help you much on breeding the A. Thomasi.. I had trouble in trying
to stop them from breeding. Need to know more about the setup of the tank,
( i.e. - what other fish do you in with them, water chemistry etc.) before I
can recommend anything.
What do you mean "they loose their eggs"? Do they eat them, it funguses etc.
Are you sure you have a male and female? Sometimes two female will lay eggs
together and of course nothing happens.
Mine spawned in regular tap water 7.1 pH, 79 degrees and moderately soft.
The only other fish in the tank were two pencil fish and a bushy nose pleco.
Hope this helps
good luck
sal
