Hi Max,
works great for me.

You can also get them in slightly darker/whiter color.
Just to be on the safe side, make the little acid test to check
if there is no calcium in there, which in return will raise your
GH/KH-You don't want that !

Acid Test:
Put a bit MURATIC ACID (Pool Supply) in a cup
together with some sand.
If you see a LOT of bubbling, the sand has tooooo much
calcium and will raise your KH/GH to much.
