My experience has been that N. anomala is a roudy little fish. I kept 1 male
and 3 females in a 30 for quite a while. I had originally tried two males,
but the larger one harassed the smaller nonstop. The females were always
fighting over spawning sites, and with the male when they spawned. They were
very interesting fish though, and weren't nearly as shy as some of the
dwarfs I've kept. The female even spawned repeatedly on a rock at the front
of the aquarium facing out.
