Eric, I had the same issue w/D. maculatus. Also, the fungus didn't seem the same, somehow, as other fungi... thick and solid looking and REALLY fast to develop! The only solution which granted me any success was to hold my breath and disregard the label directions on methylene blue... I REALLY dumped that junk in! Dark, dark blue water through which I could not see. Picked dead eggs a couple of times a day (or more), and 25% water changes every day (starting the next day after treatment); the water will be still pretty dark when they hatch. Couple of times, I overdosed w/methylene blue and also added Maroxy (at recommended dose), and that worked pretty well, too. Helps to have seriously acidic water (below 5). Hope this helps some...
