Re: blue ram parenting behavior? P.S.

Mike ,
Thanks for the advise.I have one of those new ebo jaeger heaters in the tank. The one with a temperature dial on it.They 're really accurate.I think I set it to 84F last night.I better check it again tonight
I'm glad you like my pictures, thanks.Hey ,your shots on your website are really good, too.
I try to get as close to the fish/tank glass as possible. My older pictures were taken with the cameras in build flash.I moved up to a newer TTL(Through the lens metering) capable external electronic flash, although the 950 and 990 are 'nt truly TTL capable. The new flash gave me much better results and allowed me to take shots a little bit further away from the motive then with the in build flash.I think the biggest problem with the new digital cameras is focus and lighting. Here's a little trick that helped me a great deal to overcome the autofocus problems:
Most of my Apisto tanks are dimly lit.I use a flashlight or an outside light source such as studio lights to illuminate the surroundings and/or point the light directly on the fishes body to help the cameras AF focusing in on it.I know this sounds funny but it works.Trains your arms as well as you holding up the camera in full gear in one hand and the flashlight in the other :) .I mount my camera on a mono or tripod for fry pictures such as the ones seen in the fry development album.
The 950 is very similar to the 990 let me know if you need help with initial settings of your camera for tank photography.

accurate thermometer...you are at a high limit!! Your pics are
TREMENDOUS...........just tremendous! I have a Cool Pic 900 but can't touch
