RE: lights was CO2 Usage Question

Greetings Yvan,

I don't have a specific product in mind here but you should be able to get
a "standard" 48" double flourescent fixture from any large home improvement
center such as Home Depot, Menards or Lowes. I don't know what's out in
Oregon but even a hardware or electrical supply store should be able to get
you these fixtures. I've seen them from about $10 to $30 each and they
hold 2 40 watt 48" bulbs. You should be able to get them with a 3 or 6
foot cord which you can plug into a wall outlet. You can mount them on
something above the tanks if you wish or attach them to the underside of
the level above if you're using some sort of rack to stack tanks.

Check Home Depot SKU # 656779 just to show you what I'm talking about.
 www.homedepot.com Search SKU #'s

I haven't checked into the other fixtures that Scott (???) was talking
about below.

Happy to help,
Jason

hi garry,

talking
about?
thanks

Hye Jason, I use the shoplights on some tanks, but if
you really want to grow plants then do not go for
cheap here. Actually its not really all *that*
expensive if you know where to look. AH Supply is a
WONDERFUL company that sells Compact Flourescent
lighting. I used three of their 96 watt bright kits on
my 125 and without any CO2 I get great plant growth,
almost too good. Some day I might add CO2, but
probably not until I have time to trim the plants.
THey sell a large variety of lighting solutions, and I
can tell you that if you go with them you will not be
disappointed.
