I've got a pair (or atleast what I assume to be a pair) of these in a  29G
tank, when I bought them they were a little thin and imature, so thought I
would "fatten them up". Ph is just under 7, soft water (gH 4) temp around
80f, lots of planting, plant pots and wood. They are in there with some
corydoras, ancistrus and tetras.

In the last few weeks the fish have coloured up very well, and have started
staying close to each other, being slightly terretorial and digging pits in
the sand substrate, which they deffend for a few days then abondon to
another. Atleast one of the fish has a breeding tube lowered.

Am I correct in thinking they are attempting to spawn, but the presence of
the other fish is distubing them too much? I'm swamped with fry at the
moment but hope to have a 17G breeder setup for them soon, just wanted to
check with some experienced types that I'm thinking straight!!
