Re: nothing ! word to the wise

David,all
I 'm not getting in between the ph/ Co2 discussion here, but like to point out that I do use CO2 injection in my 75g planted Discus showtank.I have plants like large and dwarf lotus's ,E.tennellus ,Hemianthus micranthemoides and Riccia flutans to name a few of the demanding plants in there that wouldn't stand a chance in a low light,no CO2 Apisto tank.
I enjoy all angles of the hobby and like aquatic gardening almost as much as breeding Apistos.

All my 15 Apisto tanks are planted with low light ,easy to grow hardy plants like Crypts, Java Fern-Moss Anubia barteri var.nana.I guess what I'm trying to say is that I agree that a Apisto tank doesn't need CO2 and other high tech stuff, but if you decide on lush plant growth in a centerpiece showtank CO 2 injection is recommended. The plant people here probably would agree with me that an O2 bubbling plant is something pretty to look at.I think I proofed in the last AGA contest that you can set up a very attractive planted Apisto tank without any high tech gadgets attached.
IMHO plants will take up more nutrients with lots of light and Co2 injection.I managed to grow Discus to 6.5"+ adult size in my 75g CO2 tank with 50% WC weekly instead of recommended 25-50% daily WC's by the Discus folks.IMO the plants will keep the water clean enough in a well managed tank.
Max who won't watch the Superbowl on Sunday :) yawn

Perhaps you should just let things die down. That
would have been the wise thing. We kind of moved on
until you brought the subject back up.

I take offense to your comments because they are aimed
at me. I suggest you learn to read before you open
your mouth next time. If you cannot follow a
conversation my adive to you is that you not get
involved.

That is incorrect. What I did say was that for this
forum a lecture on the definition of pH is uncalled
for. I asked for an explanation of the need or the
lack there of a CO2 injection system which I did
explain however I failed to see anyone explain why one
was needed. There are lists for chemistry this is a
list for Apistogrammas. It is easy to quote tech
jargon true understanding is shown in an explanation
and the application of the data.

Seems like a very negative attitude on your part. And
a very unwise thing to do given the fact that the
whole thing died down. However I was man enough to
give a public apology. After all this is just in fun
and we are all here to share our knowledge. It seems
the other partys in question don't feel as i do. Seems
you better check your attitude at the door if you wish
to continue on this list. I for one will not tolerate
petty attacks. Next time at least be man enough to
name me. I really hate weasly people. Is there no
honor left in this world. I will leave you to your
childish ways.
