Maybe you should go easy on 'em and give 'em a pass on the "beginning 
of time/universe" thing.

Creatio ex nihilo  --  schmeelio.

Let's make it easier and more current by simply asking for an 
evolutionary explanation for the "origin" of life that holds up.

  [hint: maybe somebody could mention Intelligent Design soon, so we 
can debate its merits vs. it being a vast religious-right conspiracy]
